“Neighbors That Care” launched as a resident-driven initiative in a tiny but close-knit Detroit suburb, working with the charitable Pleasant Ridge Foundation to provide food and other resources to the community’s many first responders.
It quickly became apparent that similar efforts were needed across the United States. It was equally clear that while millions of Americans remain under shelter-in-place orders, there is a strong desire to reach out to support the first responders who are putting their own lives at risk to keep us safe.
“Neighbors That Care” was founded by Paul A. Eisenstein, Jennifer Quenville and Michael Strong. Brendan Strong built the website and Larry Printz designed the group's logo, as a completely voluntary effort. The project is not seeking to raise funds but simply to encourage, support and promote similar community-based efforts.
